Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer who will be responsible for leading projects in the engineering department and ensuring that all products are designed, developed, and manufactured to the highest quality standards.
 
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, production, and quality assurance to ensure that products meet customer requirements and are manufacturable at scale. This role will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to grow within the business and there will be lots of opportunities for progression.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering projects and ensure that all products are designed, developed, and manufactured to the highest quality standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet customer requirements and are manufacturable at scale.
  • Project management, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure that product designs align with market needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners such as suppliers and contractors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in product design and development, preferably in material processing / conveyors.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of industrial hydraulics and automated control is desirable.
  • Experience with project management and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in 3D modelling using best practices.
  • Experience with MRP, PDM and ERP systems is desirable.
